Wedding Earrings

You've seen many many brides interpret their (traditional custom) of something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue. This is your wedding. Do you want to follow the norm or be different? I want to be the girl that does something on her own, and sets a new trend. Take heart. Here is something you can do to make your wedding unique!
I love these earrings for a bride or even perhaps for the bridesmaids. They can be worn for that destination wedding that your having on the beach. Why do they need to be typical? The pearl earring with cz, the very traditional, yes you know the earrings we all see. Why not mix it up a bit and wear the round elegant filigree earrings with blue topaz in matte and faceted stones. These can be worn with the modern contemporary dress or how about the vintage dress. These are stunning and affordable. Try something new and different, you won't be disappointed. This jewelry company will take your old passe' pieces and bring them back to life, starting at 25.00. Take your mothers or grandmothers old jewelry or brooches and incorporate them into that piece you will not only wear the day of your wedding but everyday.   Contact  SAVVY AND SKY  they can help you find that perfect pair of earrings. Where you can find my jewelry! Daylily in Grand Rapids, MI

So It pays to wear your work or have a business card handy. As a friend and I were shopping we started talking to the owner of a wonderful gift store in our area, and we ended up on talking about my jewelry. Before I knew it, I had an appointment to bring in samples and I found myself in another gift store. Yay!!! I believe the appeal to upcycled jewelry is the uniqueness and idea of reusing elements.  I incorporate new gemstones and vintage elements, and make each piece by hand. I love the gift stores that enjoy giving business the their local artitsts! So if your out and about the Grand Rapids area, stop by Daylily, you will be glad you did.

Full Bloom Bracelet

I named this piece Full Bloom, hummm I wonder why? I seem to have this recurring theme in my work. I love flowers and anyone who knows me knows I love my garden and spend much time out there as often as I can, even if it's to have coffee or a glass of wine. I think we all love flowers don't we? In this piece I included a resin, cloisonne, metal, and vintage flowers. I also included crystals, coral and glass. This piece is perfect for summer and won't last long. Love It !!!

I am into another store and so excited to be with this awesome store called Pink Blvd. in the East Hills Neighborhood of Grand Rapids, Mi. They have fun, fashionable and fantastic finds at this wonderful little boutique! If you get a chance check it out. In the meantime I have made the above piece with vintage chain, vintage beads, buttons and pearls. There is also vintage charms and a lovely baroque pearl in ivory. I kind of hope this piece doesn't sell for awhile so I can enjoy it. As always you can send me an email or check out my website at tinarothwell.com I won't be creating jewelry for a couple of weeks I need to focus on Art Prize Grand Rapids, one of the nations largest art competition. Loving the color of silver

I am loving the color of silver next to blues, greys and whites in this vintage bracelet. I found this at a garage sale and was so excited to bring it home. I used crystal clear glass beads, silver and black faceted glass beads, agate beads, metal beads, shells, and pearls. Measuring approx. 7 1/2" with a really nice clasp this bracelet has another 25 years left at least. I will save this piece for the next show or for the boutiques, not sure yet.

I sent quite a few pieces to a local store this week and she took everything she saw, I feel blessed. Hard work does pay off!!! I cleaned the studio yesterday and I am starting to feel organized. I have to get back to painting as well. I miss mixing the paint. Let's see what comes out of the studio. hummmm

launching the new jewelry site

So here is another sample of the vintage inspired jewelry on my new web site. I think your going to absolutely love it. The jewelry feels alittle bit vintage but with a new contemporary twist. Check it out you won't be disappointed. http://www.crazycrystalsandpearls.com This particular piece was made with a vintage brooch and freshwater pearls and as always with swarovski crystals on aged brass. I purchased this brooch when I was in Phoenix visiting my daughter. I wonder who the lucky person will be that ends up with this oh so lovely jewelry. Part of the fun in making my jewelry is the fact that the majority of it is repurposed or recycled. Trying hard to be green. Every little effort makes a difference. Right?
