Sue Pelletier Workshop

In Sues workshop we are making these little black birds and houses. It's alot like paper mache' and equally as easy. These are Sues birds thats why they look so good. She is amazing!

Not quite done with my house, but for a first attempt it's not too bad. It's alot harder than it looks. I don't know maybe it's that overthinking thing that I have. I used a piece of luan as my base and started building up from there. If you have ever thought about taking a workshop you should do it, it's a blast and all the artists are super nice and friendly. The workshops are put on by cloth paper.  I am taking another class with Sue tomorrow and looking forward to it :) 

New Jewelry for Spring with gold leafing

If you have been following for awhile you know that I am a mixed media artist that loves gold leafing. I carried my interest to my new jewelry line. This piece is a genuine 30" copper chain adorned with a large round disc embellished with genuine copper leafing and silk. It only makes sense for me to apply what I know. I love using what I have as well, recycling is always on my frontline. I did have a good time with my best friend and her daughter on friday. I took my middle daughter and we did the girl thing, little lunch little shopping and it is truly a joy, to spend time with people whom you love! It doesn't hurt to have many eyes, they give you a different perspective. What's the old saying? Four eyes are better than two, in my case eight eyes!!!

We thought we would share a few of the items that sold at studio chickelala, and give a shout out for all those that attended our holiday art & gift show, it was a success !! Not only because we sold beautiful art and gift items but successful because we felt so happy that so many friends and family came out to support and spend time with all of us.
