Large Scale Painting

I love this painting so much...I just had to add it to a room! It's kind of fun to think of it in a large format.
The amount of gold leafing is wow!!!! I think we should all have a large floral painting in our homes and think of the savings over a lifetime. Painting vs. Cost of real flowers. I wonder how long it would take for it to pay for itself. Well if you paid a florist $100.00 dollars a month to deliver twice a month. You would end up paying $1200. a year for fresh flowers. It would take only two years for the painting to pay for itself, and you'd have a gorgeous painting to show. The real flowers are long gone! We should all have beautiful art in our homes and not mass produced posters! Let's pumb up the volume and invest in great art for our homes.

Painting of Tall Pines from a Distance

This is my lastest large scale painting of tall pines, it's mixed media including paper, oil and genuine copper leafing on a wood panel. The size is 40 x 48" and it is currently for sale. The title of this pretty piece is On The Hill. As a chickelala I try to constantly stay busy, my mind is forever busy. I think, live and breathe art. What an exhistance huh? I love it and love my journey. I am so busy because the chickelalas are having an art show in December, just in time for christmas. As we near December I will post some of the wonderful pieces we have been creating. I did get a chance to go downtown Grand Rapids, Mi. this weekend to get a first hand look at Art Prize. So much wonderful art to see in a smaller city. I will post pics tomorrow. For now, enjoy the painting and if your interested leave me a comment and I will get back with you or check out more pieces on my site at:  http://www.tinarothwell.com

winter scene art

I think when I look at this diptych I feel winter, which sounds good about now. It's so warm now and just a moment of cool sounds great. No better yet I will just stick my head in the freezer. The moment will pass! This diptych is sold and they are being shipped to Phoenix.  I continue to work with leafing, I don't know I never seem to get tired of it. I seem to really enjoy doing tree branches lately, it's fun to drag the brush. The reds seem to work with the background colors and red has so many shades or variations. I am starting to simplify my work and I think I will try to abstract more. I need to hit the drawing board, yes time to go and sketch abit.
